Just wanted to say what a shame and as a die hard collector how much I think it sucks so much that you were kind enough to send out an early figure (new biker chick) and for someone greedy bastard to put it up for sale on ebay. I for one think it makes us collectors and McFarlane fans look ungreatfull. I really wish that someone wouldnt have been so inconsiderate as to do that.
I know that every gift that I've ever recieved from others on the board and from McFarlane are for me at least a treasured item. I never sell, trade or give away things someone has been kind enough (unless its something like a bunch of stickers that I keep some and share the extras etc) to send to me. I guess I'm a little too sentimental sometimes. Something like that figure would have went right on the wall no matter how much money it would fetch.
Just want to let you know that some of collectors really appreciate the things you folks and others on the board do for us and hook us up with and would not let greed get the better of us.
So just wanted to say thanks for all you do and try not to let a few bad apples make all of us look like greedy assholes.
and to whomever did that, I dont know who it was, dont take what I say as a personal attack on you. You have the right to do what you want and to think how you do, and I just feel differently about stuff like that.

It was SuicideAnomoly, and he put it on eBay because his mother was just diagnosed with MS and he needed any financial help he could get to help pay for some medical bills.

I hate to sound like a bad guy, but it just doesnt seem like something like selling this would really go for medical bills. Not saying he's lying, but sometimes its just hard to believe some claims of why things are sold. Seems like there's a lot of folks that say stuff like this on ebay that I've found and I maybe a little cynical (sp), but sometimes find it hard to believe.
if its the truth, I'm sorry to hear about his mother, but if its just an excuse for it being sold, it sucks. its his/her right, but....

I do agree with what Chaser is saying, but I also know that Jake would have loved to keep that figure.
He lives in Calgary here. We've gotten to know him pretty well since selling him our Simpsons stuff.
I promise you, he wasn't taking it for granted.
His mother has recently been diagnosed with MS, and the guy is feeling pretty bad about all the money he's been spending on toys.
He opens his stuff, so there's no way of making much off of his collection, but he thought maybe the Biker Chick would be something good to earn some money to help out his family.
I do see why people are pissed, but I hope you guys can see that he's not a little bastard scalper. I feel bad that his reputation on the Spawn board has been tarnished.

I agree with what you are saying chaser - it is a shame that it happened that way.
I also am not saying anything one way or the other on suicideanomoly's situation, but had I seen a whole collection from him go up for sale, then I could look at it and say - yeah that's the case. But one figure isn't going to make a difference for medical bills. The price that figure was going for (from what I have read into it) would only have covered a couple of copays.
Dion does a great job of making sure that there is a connection from the CC and the fans. It seems to have always been tough, and probably always will be. But atleast now he has an outlet to vent!

If thats the case and you say he's on the up and up, then I can understand. I feel a little bad for saying something now, but just felt like Dion needed to know that such things are appreciated and not to let it effect the generous things they do for us.
for SuicideAnomaly, even though he might not see this, I offer my best wishes and condolenses for your mom. Sorry to hear that.

Mega - Even a little can help a lot sometimes.
Chaser - Don't feel bad. It's understandable that people would be pissed to hear of someone doing that. It's just an unfortunate situation.
Dion - You're a great dude! I think it's awesome that you do things like that for the fans, and I hope this won't affect anyone elses chances at getting the same opportunity.
Again, I understand why you'd be pissed to hear about someone doing this. I just hope you can understand Jakes side of it, and maybe find it in ya to eventually forgive the kid.

Yeah, I know the story and I don't want to act like a dick about it. The guy did have the stones to write me directly and explain the situation.
Assuming it's true, his situation is bad and I can't find it in my heart to be pissed about it.
Still, at some level, it kinda hurt my feelings. Maybe I'm naive, but I like to think this hobby isn't all about profiteering (shrugs). I don't know, I just took it the wrong way. No big deal.

thats just it. I can see how it would kind of hurt your feelings. and for some of us, we are in it for the love of the hobby and not to make any cash. Just dont want you to lose the faith that some of us die hard fans are really greatfull for the stuff you guys hook us up with.
